Soo Rachel tells me that Taylor might not return for New Moon because he doesn't meet Jacob's physical characteristics. First off, I really hope it's not true. It would be silly to get a new Jacob! Summit now has tons of money to mess around with graphics. PUT THE KID ON STILTS IF YOU HAVE TO. It'll just be so weird if they get a new Jacob. *cries* Here's an EW article.
It's good they have a tentative date set, but we'll have to wait and see who the new director will be and whether he/she will get a new Jacob. Chris Weitz (directed Golden Compass) has been offered the job so Summit is reaching out to male directors. I guess Rob and Kristen are really upset about Catherine leaving.
PS. If they do happen to get a new actor for Jacob, it BETTER be Steven Strait. Or else I'm quitting.
WHY IS SUMMIT TRYING TO SCREW EVERYTHING UP!?! They want a new director because they want the movie rushed because TIME=MONEY. What a bunch of losers. They don't care about the fans. They know all the fans will go see New Moon even if its garbage.
I love how he refers to Rob as just PATTINSON. ahaha

Sure, I do like the idea of having New Moon released in early 2010, BUT at the same time that does make me a little nervous, because as that article about Rob and Kristen being upset said, a 2010 release means the movie could be rushed. And personally, as much as I'm excited to see New Moon, I'd rather wait a little bit longer for it to be released than it be rushed.
Regardless of what happens, I just REALLY REALLY hope whoever they get to direct New Moon realizes that they really need to do a good job. This movie will take work, and they need to pay attention to detail.
And as for the whole Jacob thing, I agree, Summit definately does have more than enough money to "mess around with graphics".
But if they do end up recasting him, they REALLY better do a good job.
And one other thing:
The way things are going now, Summit is just going to end up a bunch of greedy people like WB (it's looking like they're pretty much halfway there).
It was nice that Catherine really appreciated the fact that this movie was important. She was taking the time to think things out. But of course that didn't work into the whole quick money-making equation.
It's pretty unfortunate that Summit too has joined the 'all-i-care-about-is-money party'.
I just really hope it all works out in the end, and that things don't end up a mess.
Yeah Amanda, i totally agree with you. But i think WB really does care about all the harry potter fans. and even if they truly dont, they have created enough of a name for themselves anyways. summit cant act all rich because one blockbuster hit does not justify the arrogance theyve been into lately.
Yeah i agree too. I really hope things don't end up being all messed up and horrible. And i mean if i were them i would be seriously pissed too. Catherine made the twilight movie what it was and now they are just throwing a whole new vibe into it. I don't know how it's going to mesh.
Plus with the whole finding a new Jacob thing. That would seriously put the fans over the edge. First they axe catherine and now they want to get a new Jacob! That would be the other stupidest thing in the world to do. I like Taylor i think he is the perfect Jacob.

btw the movie was soooo funny! i really liked it, even though some bits were really cliche. also, the cullens were hardly in it enough, jasper and emmett had like, what, two lines? but the scene where bella has to hurt charlie is perfect.

and i agree with you that they weren't in it enough. I feel like i didn't get my fill of the cullens.
i will seriously boycott new moon if they replace taylor lautner-- so what if hes not tall enough, i think we can all deal with it not being a spot on character match
